Thirty-year-old Chinese woman A lives in both Beijing and Berlin and earns her living as a translator. She struggles to find a position in German theater but cannot succeed because of the cultural alienation between China and Germany. B, a thirty-year-old German homosexual man, invites her to join a theatre production about post-colonialism. The two arrive at Qingdao – a German colony in China in 1900 – however, embark on two different journeys of discovery.
三十岁的中国女人A在北京和柏林两地生活，靠翻译谋生。她期待进入德国剧场工作，却因为中德文化的隔阂得不到机会。三十岁的德国同性恋男人B邀请她加入一个关于后殖民主义的戏剧创作。两人来到青岛—1900年德国在中国的殖民地，却开始了两段探索之旅。
